    Hosting Plan / Size

Your hosting account is allocated a certain amount of space to accommodate your website and email.

Accessing Your Email Using Different Devices

To access the same email account on different devices e.g. desktop computer, laptop and mobile phone, you’ll want to use the IMAP protocol in your email settings (see next section). Doing so means that emails aren’t downloaded to your device, and they remain on your hosting account for access from anywhere.

    IMAP and POP Settings

    Here are the options:

    1. POP
POP allows you to fetch and download your emails to your device, leaving your mailbox on your hosting account empty.
When using this setting, the accompanying setting for the POP port number is 995.
    2. IMAP
IMAP will download a copy of emails to your device, leaving all messages on your hosting account.
When using this setting, the accompanying setting for the IMAP port number is 993.

    Email Storage

Emails can take up a HUGE amount of space on your hosting account if you don’t delete old, unnecessary emails and/or you have many large attachments in your emails. In the longrun you’ll want to avoid using up too much space with emails because this will lead to continuous upgrades to increase the size of your hosting account. This isn’t an issue for the vast majority of our clients but if you find yourself in this situation then it may be time to consider the following:

    1. Simply switch the configuration of your email software to download your emails from your hosting account to your computer. This is done using the ‘POP’ protocol setting. See details below. You can always switch back to IMAP after doing this. In effect this will ‘archive’ your emails by storing them on your computer.
    2. Use a 3rd party email service such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace (which includes Gmail for your business email). We can assist with either setup for an additional fee. Both are good services but their interfaces aren’t the most intuitive to use, and Microsoft is particularly difficult to set up.

    Webmail

You can also use Webmail which is very convenient from any web browser. Simply go to https://elancreative.studio/nl-email. Log in using your email address as your username, and the accompanying password. If you’ve forgotten your password you can reset it by logging into you

    All Email Settings

You will have received an email with these settings, but here they are again in one place:

    MAIL SERVER: mail.zxcs.nl
    SMTP port: 465
    POP port: 995
    IMAP port: 993

Secure encryption: always enable this option in your email software settings.
